John is Vice President, Acquisitions for RE/Solv Property Investments, Inc.  John’s duties include the identification, due diligence, fund raising, acquisition, and management of apartment properties throughout the United States.

John serves as the Managing Member and President for 21st Arlington Apartments LLC, who purchased four apartment properties in 2012.  John’s duties include the ongoing financial management, capital improvement implementation and investor communications.

As President of JR Consulting – Owner Representation & Project Management, John provides assistance to Developers during the design and construction on a wide range of project types from Casino Resorts to Corrections Facilities. 

John is a seasoned commercial real estate investor and syndicator.  John has been a commercial real estate investor since 1999 and he has owned over 600 rental units and 240,000 SF of office and retail space.  John’s earlier commercial real estate investing experience includes two new office building developments. John has been a full time real estate investor and manager since early 2011.  John currently concentrates on Workforce Housing acquisitions and their ongoing management. John is also a Gold Coach with Apartment Mentors/Success Classes and teaches a sixteen-hour workshop on how to complete due diligence for commercial properties which highlights typical obstacles and ways around them.  

He is a Civil Engineering graduate, with 35 years of commercial construction experience, building, and renovating multifamily, health care, and gaming projects.  John has 20 years of commercial real estate investing experience.

John has demonstrated management and leadership skills while leading multi-disciplinary teams through large and complicated projects.  

John is a resident of Colorado.

John has owned 628 apartment units and 246,500 square feet of Office/Retail space:

Owns 92 units in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Owns 58 units in Cincinnati, Ohio. LP

Owns 48 units in Panama City, Florida. 

Owned 410 units in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Owned 246,500 sf class A Office/Retail downtown Denver, Colorado. LP

John’s Educational and Work Experience:

John is a Design Build Professional as designated by the Design Build Institute of America and is a LEED Accredited Professional as certified by the United States Green Building Council.  John’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is from Colorado University.

John completed two years in a coaching and mentoring program with renowned author, real estate attorney and real estate investing educator, William Bronchick.

John has also been educated by and is mentored by the well known and respected national commercial real estate investing expert, Anthony Chara.

John is a member of and regular attendee of several real estate investment groups where John continues to stay current on real estate investing techniques.  John has a relationship with many Apartment Real Estate brokers where he gets access to their listings before they are available to the public. 

In addition to John’s full time real estate investing career, John occasionally provides owner representation services for clients such as the City of Aurora, the City of Broomfield, and the General Services Administration.  John is responsible for budgeting, implementing, managing, and inspecting all the capital improvements on the properties he oversees.

John spent the last 13 years of his 31 years of construction management employment as a Senior Preconstruction Manager focusing on commercial Construction Management in the planning, estimating, scheduling and management of a wide variety of projects.  These projects total over $2.0 billion and include Multifamily, Gaming, Health Care, Higher Education, Corrections, Resorts, Infrastructure, K-12 Schools, Office, Retail, Governmental, Historic and Mountain projects. John managed interdisciplinary teams up to 25 persons. John worked closely with developers and governmental agencies to develop their overall development budgets, often hiring the design teams and then managing the design to assure highly successful projects.

John’s prior construction management experience included work as a project engineer, project manager, estimator and superintendent.  This gives John a well rounded knowledge of building and buildings. This has proven a great asset in John’s real estate investing responsibilities.  John is proficient with a variety of construction and property management software. John’s strength is his ability to make sense of and work through projects to make the numbers work for all parties involved.

Prior to John’s construction management experience, John spent two years in the Civil Engineering department of a large Denver Engineering company preparing grading, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water utility plans.  John acted as the City Engineer for the City of Thornton while reviewing and approving drainage studies submitted by local developers.
